coast of Brittany; an hour from the rugged and beautiful coast of northern
Brittany; set close to the beautiful Forest of Lanouée, Menhir Ty is perfectly
situated for your holiday.
Indulge in the activity of your choice, visit numerous chateaux in the area or
just while away the time. For those so inclined, your hostess,

Menhir
Ty offers four apartments in a converted farm complex. One of the ground-floor
apartments is designed for wheelchair accessibility.
Menhir Ty is just a few minutes
stroll from the village of Lanouée which has a small supermarket, boulangerie,
two bars and one restaurant. The historic medieval city of Josselin is just ten
minutes away by car. Josselin has two large supermarkets, several petrol
stations, many bars restaurants and a traditional weekly Saturday market as well
as one of the most magnificent chateaux in the whole of France. Menhir Ty is on
the edge of the beautiful Forest of Lanouée and within easy driving distance of
historic towns such as Malestroit, Rochefort en Terre and Vannes. Alternatively,
you can lose yourself in the ancient myths of the Forest of Broceliande - search
for King Arthur, Merlin the Magician or Queen Guinevere and the Knights of the
Round Table.
And when you've done all that,
you'll want to come back to Menhir Ty time and time again.

The Mysteries of
the Menhirs

In the ancient
Celtic language of the Bretons, Menhir Ty means Large (or
'Mighty'') Stone. Thousands of these magnificent, mysterious
standing stones, individually, in small groups or in vast
alignments, can be found throughout Brittany. Their origin is
obscure but their scale is breathtaking. |
