Your Hosts

Your hosts, Joy and Simon Swindells, together with their daughter, Melida, live in the old farmhouse adjoining the gite-apartments and are on hand to help make your holiday as pleasant, fulfilling, and relaxing as possible. They are able to advise you on places to visit, local events, markets, shopping and dining out. Alternatively, if you are house hunting yourselves, they will be more than pleased to assist in any way possible and to advise on the joys as well as tribulations of being a property owner in France.

Joy and Simon came to Lanouée from the Pendle area of East Lancashire to Brittany to start a new life in 2004. Joy's daughter, Melida, made the move in February, 2007. For all of them, this is their first adventure of living in France.

With the purchase of Menhir Ty, Joy & Simon took on a significant job of restoring and converting the properties involved. Much of the work you will see at Menhir Ty has been done by them personally with Simon providing the craftsmanship and Joy a lot of the equity sweat and a good share of the inspiration for the conversion work undertaken.
