Prior to meeting and marrying Joy, Simon Swindells spent the first 40+
years of his life in Leyland, Lancashire. Simon is Lancastrian in every
sense as
his accent will testify. His working life has been spent in the
construction and restoration of fine furniture and also, more recently
with Joy, the restoration of works of fine art.
Simon and Joy decided to
quit the security of their home in Sabden near Burnley in Lancashire,
and a job which Simon had held for over thirty years, to take on the
challenge of restoring a dilapidated old farmhouse in the Morbihan area
of Britanny. The challenge was enormous but, mostly with his own 'sweat
equity' and a considerable amount of assistance from Joy, the project is
just about completed.
Simon has combined his
appreciation of good furniture with a passion for exploring the
multitude of 'Brocantes' and antique shops which inhabit his part of
France to acquire some stunning furniture for the apartments at Menhir
Ty. More recently, Simon has commenced a range of property services
options for those who need someone to look after their properties in
Brittany. |
